    VFX Supervisor / Compositor

    WEST COAST, USA

    Summary

    The role of the VFX Supervisor is primarily comprised of the design and execution of visual effects work on a given project. This can include both on set supervision for acquisition of plates and elements and supervision of the shot work through post production. In conjunction with the Producers, the Visual Effects Supervisor is responsible for the management and successful completion of the project, liaising with producers, clients or directors as required, scheduling and estimating/bidding new work.

    This person has extensive commercial and entertainment experience, is highly organized, has a keen knack for building cohesive teams and cultivating a positive environment that breeds creativity, enthusiasm, and hard work.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    VFX supervision as required (on set / In house through post)
    Execute VFX / Compositing work on given projects
    Constant attention to details and quality-checking for accuracy
    Maintain creative relations with given clients; establish strong client confidence
    Flag overages on set/ through post
    Outline project requirements involving team size, team strengths, and resources
    Communicate project expectations with VFX artists
    Communicate creative and technical input for shot design & completion with VFX artists while maintaining Director’s vision and working within budget.
    Communicate Director’s feedback
    Supervise VFX artists as needed
    Oversee all aspects for body of FX shots throughout post from start to finish
    Delegate appropriate tasks to applicable artists
    Monitor shot tracker data
    Update senior management to show status weekly

    Requirements

    6+ years of experience in post production / VFX
    Professional mastery of NUKE and/or Adobe After Effects
    Team leadership experience
    Strong ability to grow client relationships
    Advanced communication and collaboration skills
    Advanced understanding of design, animation, video, marketing, advertising, and technology
