Jake Hurwitz
Jake Hurwitz is the co-creator of CollegeHumor’s longest running and award-winning series Jake and Amir. Together with his writing/acting partner Amir Blumenfeld, Jake directed, wrote, and produced over eight hundred comedic shorts, amassing over a billion views on YouTube and transforming CollegeHumor into a content powerhouse. Jake went on to host the 15th annual Webby Awards, and shortly after was named one of Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch.” In 2015, Jake and Amir teamed up with Executive Producer Ed Helms to create pilots for the likes of TBS and truTV.
Jake began his solo directing career with Vimeo Original’s Lonely and Horny, which went on to become the platform’s most purchased video-on-demand series. Lonely and Horny is now in its second season. His sphere of influence extends far beyond pioneering digital video as the co-founder of HeadGum, a top three comedy podcast network with listenership in the tens of millions per month. This multi-dimensional presence prompted Vice to profile Jake as having “a decade of perfect timing.”
